You can still leave a comment for Coach Rogers, but do it soon. We plan to print out your comments and have them bound together along with some photos of the post-match presentation.
Thanks to everyone for a nice turnout and congratulations on keeping all of this a secret from Coach Rogers.
Don’t forget that Coach Rogers will be going for his 500th win tonight against the Waynesville Tigers. The Varsity match will begin around 6:45pm.
In their season opener, the Glendale Boys defeated the Parkview Vikings, 7-0 to give Coach Rogers his 499th win. The Boys will attempt to hit 500 next Tuesday, September 4 in a home game against Waynesville. The JV match begins at 5:00 p.m. The Varsity game will begin sometime between 6:30 and 7:00pm.
Please renew your efforts to alert past Falcons to this event and we hope to see you at the game. We especially ask that all former Booster Club Presidents be in attendance. Jackie Rogers would like all Presidents to be on the field as a representation of Falcon history as we recognize this milestone.

Last night the girls suffered a tough 1-2 loss to Kickapoo. The game winner came with about 5 minutes remaining in regulation. Tonight’s match against Neosho was rained out and will not be made up.
The girls will next play in the district semifinals in Rolla on Tuesday, May 15 against the winner of Monday night’s match between #4 Lebanon and #5 Hillcrest.
The girls will have to win the District 11 tournament next week if they want to get Coach Rogers’ 500th win. Otherwise, we will have to wait until fall.
Don’t forget to Congratulate Coach Rogers if you have not already done so.
The Falcons stumbled last week at Lebanon and suffered a tough 0-1 defeat.
The Falcons will try to get Coach Rogers’ 499th win and claim the Ozark Conference championship on Wednesday night against Kickapoo (at Kickapoo). However, if the girls are going to get the 500th win this Spring, it will either be on Thursday night at Neosho or next week in the District 11 playoffs in Rolla.
Stay tuned!
Congratulate Coach Rogers if you have not already done so.
The magic number is now 3. Despite a bumpy stretch after losing one of our best players, Lorin Opfer, to a broken foot, the girls seem to be back on track and have a chance to make this a truly memorable occasion.
The girls have strong tests this week against district foes Rolla and Lebanon. If they win both of those games, they will clinch the Ozark Conference title and can go for Coach Rogers’ 500th win on Wednesday, May 9 against KICKAPOO at Kickapoo. It doesn’t get any better than that!
Once we get to 499, we can announce firm plans. In the meantime, things are still fluid and we hope the girls keep winning.
Please tell all the former Falcons you know about this site, but please remember that we are trying to keep this a secret from Coach Rogers!

Coach Rogers is about to hit 500 wins and we want to honor his accomplishment!
As of April 17, 2007 Coach Rogers record is 492-167-60 combined for both boys and girls Glendale Soccer. With 23 regular season games and a strong squad this year’s girls should easily reach the 500 mark. We anticipate this historic win will occur sometime before the end of the regular season.
Our hope is that you will join us on the night of Coach’s 500th victory to help celebrate the combined success of the Falcons Nation. With the Falcons playing an “away year” schedule, this win will most likely come when we visit a Springfield area team so those attending may have to travel across town, or a few miles down the road.
If you would be able to join in the celebration please subscribe to this website by placing your email address in the box to the right. You will then receive email notification when we know the exact date, time and location of the likely 500th win.
If you would like to write a congratulatory note or letter to Coach you may do so with a comment to this site. We will present them to him at the recognition ceremony.
If you have contact with other former Falcons please pass this information on to them. We are attempting to contact all players, but records are incomplete and we do not have a master database of all players.
Please note that we are attempting to keep the full extent of our plans a secret from Coach. He is, of course, aware of the approach of this event, but he does not know exactly what kind of celebration we are planning. Your discretion in this effort toward secrecy is appreciated.
As always you can follow the Falcons season at glendalesoccer.com. We look forward to a large turnout in support of Coach Rogers. See you there!
Go Falcons!
